Winter bliss on your ski holiday in Malbun

Ski boots at the ready, jacket zipped up, snow glistening outside. From the Gorfion family hotel you head straight into your winter adventure without any detours. One step out the door, a few metres across the snow – and little ones and grown-ups are already on their skis.
Malbun is compact, friendly and just right for relaxed ski days with children. While some are practising their very first turns, others enjoy carving their tracks through the snow. Those who prefer it quieter can glide along cross-country trails through the winter mountain landscape just a few minutes away. And in between there are warm hands, rosy cheeks and plenty of pride.

Small, charming and perfect for families

The Malbun ski area lies between 1,600 and 2,000 metres and offers everything families need for relaxed days on the slopes. Short distances, gentle slopes for beginners and varied runs for more advanced skiers make winter here wonderfully uncomplicated.
There are 23 kilometres of pistes spread across the Sareis, Täli, Hochegg and Schlucher areas. Wide blue pistes invite you to practise, red runs add variety and sporty skiers will find their challenge on the black slopes. Everything is close together. That saves time, walking and nerves.

Little skiers, big achievements

Ski school & children’s area

Children learn to ski in Malbun with joy, patience and absolutely no pressure. From as young as 3, little ones gain their first experience at ski school through play. In the free Malbi Park – just a short toboggan ride from the Gorfion – magic carpet, carousel and child-friendly practice slopes are waiting for those first turns. The ski schools start right by the Gorfion. While the children are in the best of hands, parents can enjoy a few peaceful descents or a break with a view of the mountains.

A WINTER’S DAY AT THE GORFION

7.45 a.m.

Wake up, have a little cuddle, get up, pull back the curtain and quickly check how much snow has fallen overnight.

8.30 a.m.

Hearty Gorfion breakfast. Warm, delicious and just right for a powerful day in the fresh air.

9.00 – 9.30 a.m.

A first round of play in Mr Gorfion’s KidsClub. Settle in, meet friends, start laughing.

9.30 a.m.

Ski jacket zipped up, helmet on, gear at the ready. All set?

10.00 a.m.

Hit the slopes. The ski school starts right next to the hotel, with no detours.

12.00 noon

Back to the Gorfion. Delicious lunch and a short breather.

12.30 p.m.

Quiet time for some, play and fun in the KidsClub for others.

2.00 p.m.

The ski school calls for the afternoon session. New turns, lots of practice and even more pride.

4.00 p.m.

Afternoon snack time. Mmmmh. Exactly what’s needed after an afternoon in the snow.

Afterwards

Time to hit the water. Splashing, sliding, laughing and slowly getting cosy and warm again.

6.30 p.m.

Delicious dinner for all the family. Time to hit the kids’ buffet!

Play, play, play. Or start to yawn already.

Late

Fall tired into your cosy bed. Listen to a bedtime story. Good night, winter’s day. See you tomorrow!

Sareis ski lift – only around 130 metres away
Hochegg ski lift – sporty descents, including an FIS racing piste
Haita run – 4 km long, leading right through the village
Schneeflucht practice slope – for families and beginners
Malbi Park – for those very first attempts on skis, just a short toboggan ride from the Gorfion and free of charge

Here you can rent skis, snowboards, helmets and everything else you need for a perfect day in the snow. Practical, straightforward and perfectly tailored to winter sports fans of all ages.

After your day on the slopes, your equipment is in good hands in the modern Ski & Flow ski room at the Gorfion. Skis are stored safely, boots dry out overnight and the next morning everything is ready for another round in the snow.
